Summary

Description
English: Norwich: former church of St. Peter Hungate A fifteenth-century church in Princes Street. The tower was built in 1431, with the pyramid top added in 1904 to replace the belfry area which had become unsafe. Although it was much restored in the first decade of the 20th century, it had fallen into a bad state again by the 1930s and might have been demolished but for the Norfolk Archæological Society's efforts in raising the funds to repair it once more. It was a museum of church art from 1936 to 1995.
