Summary
Pilot Landing Aid Television (PLAT) view of a Manually Operated Visual Landing Aid (MOVLAS) recovery of an FA-18 aboard an aircraft carrier during pitching deck. In the first shot at time 12:58:27, the flight deck is up (as indicated by the horizon being low. The MOVLAS repeater (the bracket to the left of the screen with a tick mark just above center) shows the LSO indicating that the aircraft is slightliy above glideslope. As the deck drops down in the next frame at 12:58:30, (as indicated by the horizon looking higher on the screen), the pilot "chases" it down. The LSO realizes this and quickly lowers the MOVLAS indication to show the aircraft well below glideslope. What will happen next as the aircraft crosses the ramp is that the deck will cycle back up, putting the aircraft at risk of landing dangerously short. The pilot's only choice is to add (lots of) power and go around for another try.
