English: Painting of Iftikhar Khan (alt. spelt as 'Iftikar Khan'), a Mughal governor (subahdar) of Kashmir Subah (province) in the 1670's (1671 to 1675 specifically), ca.1650–1675. The border of the painting contains of Perso-Arabic inscription of his name (said to be an honorific title). Possibly identifiable as the governor of Kashmir due to the inscribed name and period this painting belongs to, contemporary with the ascribed governor. Painted by an unknown artist. Brush and black ink and opaque watercolour on paper with laid pink borders. Dimensions: 23.2 x 15.6 cm; image: 19.4 x 12 cm. Credit line: Gift of Max Tanenbaum, Toronto, 1979.
