Description
Nederlands: Tamarin is een Missiepost aan de Cotticarivier in Suriname. Er was een internaat, school, een polikliniek en een zaagmolen. Inheemsen en marrons woonden bij de missiepost. De marrons en Inheemsen werkten op de zaagmolen van Fraters. Na de sluiting van het houtbedrijf vertrokken de Inheemsen naar de bovenloop van de Commewijnerivier. Tijdens de binnenlandse oorlog van 1986 tot 1992 werd deze plaats verwoest. Na de oorlog werd deze missiepost weer opgebouwd. Er staan nu onderwijzers woningen, een school en kerkgebouw. Het internaat en de polikliniek bestaan niet meer. Kinderen worden per boot elke morgen naar de school vervoerd.
