Object history Provenance: Gift from the artist to the Master of Ceremonies Hans Wilhelm von Warnstedt (1743-1817) 1781, who in 1814 donated the painting to the Barnekow collection. State Councellor (konferensråd), life surgeon Christian Fenger (1773–1845). Upon his death, the collection passed to his daughter Else Sophie Barnekow (1809–1899) and then to her son the composer, Professor Chr. Barnekow (1837–1913). Sold at Bruun Rasmussen Auctions on September 20, 2022 for DKK 20,000 (Lot 909/​57).
