Summary[edit]

The structure of Pluto is not very well understood at present. Scientists expect that Pluto's internal structure is differentiated, with the rocky material having settled into a dense core surrounded by a mantle of ice. The diameter of the core in this case should be around 1660 km (70% of the Pluto's diameter).
