Summary

Description
English: For St Stephen’s Church in Bournemouth, and working to John Loughborough Pearson’s designs, Nathaniel Hitch did carvings on the marble pulpit in 1889.The pulpit shows three scenes from the New Testament. In the centre Jesus is shown preaching the sermon on the mount to his disciples and at the sides we have St Peter preaching on the first Whitsunday (Pentecost) and St Paul preaching at Athens. This is a photograph of one of the three panels.
