Stema comunei Șincai, potrivit anexei nr. 1, se compune dintr-un scut triunghiular albastru, cu marginile rotunjite, împărțit în vârf în chevron de aur.

În câmpul albastru se află un vas antic de aur flancat de două făclii de aur.

În vârful scutului de aur, pe o carte roșie, se află o pâine de aur și o pană de argint.

Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu un turn crenelat.

Semnificațiile elementelor însumate

Stema comunei Șincai este una aluzivă, referitoare la personalitatea lui Gheorghe Șincai și la varianta locală a ceramicii tip Coțofeni.

Făcliile reprezintă cultura promovată de cărturarul iluminist, precum și bogăția resurselor locale de gaze naturale.

Vasul ceramic reproduce o piesă arheologică de patrimoniu, descoperită pe teritoriul comunei.

Cartea cu pană reprezintă valoroasa operă a lui Gheorghe Șincai, iar pâinea sugerează principiul "pâine și carte", pentru care a militat, precum și produsele agricole locale.

Coroana murală cu un turn crenelat semnifică faptul că localitatea are rangul de comună.
