Summary

Description The Roebling Bridge, also known as "Roebling's Delaware Aqueduct" spans the Delaware River from Minisink Ford, New York to Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania. Built in 1847 and designed by John A. Roebling – who would go on to design the Brooklyn Bridge – it originally carried the Delaware & Hudson Canal over the river, replacing the ferrying that was previously used. It was later converted to vehicular and pedestrian use, and was restored in 1965 and 1995. Owned now by the National Park Service, it has been a National Historic Landmark since 1968.

This view shows the interior of the bridge from the southern walkway.
