| Description |
English: Rotation curve of spiral galaxy Messier 33 (yellow and blue points with error bars), and a predicted one from distribution of the visible matter (gray line). The data and the model predictions are from Corbelli and Salucci 2000. The discrepancy between the two curves can be accounted for by adding a dark matter halo surrounding the galaxy.
Español: Curva de rotación de la galaxia espiral Messier 33 (puntos en amarillo y azul, con barras de error), y la curva predicha por la distribución de materia visible (línea gris). La diferencia entre ambas curvas se puede compensar al incluir el halo de materia oscura que envuelve la galaxia. |
