Founded in 1973, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig (The big barn at Ostaig) is an internationally recognised centre for the Gaelic language and culture. The college is a part of the University of the Highlands and Islands.
Current student numbers are around 100 on full-time courses, about 160 on distance learning courses, and up to 900 on short courses each year.
These are recent buildings that have been added to the original 'big barn'. There is more significant building work underway for the next phase of expansion.
