English: Tombchest of William Sandbach and others, 5m south-east of remains of the sundial in churchyard of St Andrew's church, Tarvin. Tombchest: dated 1829. Ashlar buff sandstone. Mixture of Gothick and Late Classical detailing. Moulded plinth. Long sides end in bold consoles with acanthus leaves to the front. Gothick blind arcading along the top of the inscribed panels. To the north it records, William Sandbach of Burton, formerly of Granada in the West Indies, in ornate Gothick script except for the date in Roman numerals. Short side has bold urns with swags of drapery in pointed arched niches.
