Deutsch: "Scharmützel der Stadt Bantam mit den Holländern. Den 5.,6. und 7. September 1596 fand ein Scharmützel statt, weil die Städter 9 vornehme Holländer und für 6.000 oder 7.000 Gulden Waren zurückgehalten hatten" (Vor allem infolge der Intrigen der in Bantam ansässigen Portugiesen, die in der Ankunft der holländischen Flotte eine Bedrohung der portuguesischen Monopolstellung im Gewürzhandel sahen, aber auch infolge nicht immer sehr taktvollen Auftretens des holländischen Befehlshabers wurde Cornelis de Houtman während eines Besuchs beim Fürsten von Bantam mit einer Anzahl Holländer gefangenengenommen. erst nach einem Bombardement von Bantam durch die holländische Flotte und der Zahlung eines Lösegelds wurde de Houtman wieder freigelassen.)
