This battle-damaged bronze eagle, measuring 279x162 cm, was captured from the ruins of the Hitler's New Reich_Chancellery building (die Neue Reichskanzlei) in Berlin. It is a sculpted representation of the Reichsadler of Nazi Germany, the 'eagle-and-swastika' national emblem 1935–1945.
