Summary

Description

Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion transport helicopters are flown by the Heavy Marine Helicopter Squadron 465 (<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMH-465" rel="nofollow">HMH-465</a>). The helicopter is on display at MCAS Miramar where the squadron nicknamed Warhorse is based.

These helicopters have been used to support operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, to rescue ejected Navy aircrew members, for extracting prisoners of war, firefighting efforts in California and to support the Glabal War on Terror.
