Description
Deutsch: Steinadler auf dem Simplon. Er wurde während des zweiten Weltkriegs von Erwin Friedrich Baumann entworfen und durch Soldaten der Schweizer Armee als Bruchsteinmauerwerk errichtet. Der Adler blickt Richtung Süden/Italien. Inschrift auf dem Sockel des Denkmals: «IN DER FREIHEIT DER BERGE STEHT ES, EIN WUCHTIGES MAL AUS HARTEM GRANIT: EIN GEDENKEN TREUER PFLICHTERFÜLLUNG, EIN DAUERNDES MAHNEN, WILLIG UND WACH ZU SEIN FÜR UNSERE FREIHEIT.»
