Description Arms of Smith of Walpole St Peter, Norfolk: Or, a bend azure between three trefoils slipped vert (Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.939 "Smith of Walpole, Norfolk"); Smyth of Walpole St Peter (Walpole in Mershland), Norfolk: "The villages of Walpole St Peter and Walpole St Andrew are amalgamated under one parish council, and are now known simply as Walpole. It is very close to the border with Lincolnshire, about ten miles west of King's Lynn, in what used to be called Marshland. The soil is very productive and is intensively farmed.
