Summary

Description Original porch ceiling at Spring Hall, now known as Spring Hall Mansions, off Huddersfield Road, Halifax, West Yorkshire. It was a rebuild of a 17th century house, designed in 1871 by William Swinden Barber for Tom Holdsworth. It is owned by Kirklees Council and it houses Calderdale Register Office. This porch ceiling is very similar to some Arts and Crafts church porch ceilings of the same date. The ceiling structure is repeated in more decorative style under the staircase in the entrance hall of this building.
