Deutsch: Die Kirche „Maria am Gscheid“, auch bekannt als Kapelle Mariä Himmelfahrt in Gescheid, in der niederösterreichischen Marktgemeinde St. Aegyd am Neuwalde. Der Rechteckbau mit einem Eingangsglockenturm wurde ab 1953 nach Plänen des Architekten Julius Bergmann aus Perchtoldsdorf errichtet und am 1. August 1954 von Bischof-Koadjutor Franz König eingeweiht. Das Sgraffito „Schutzmantelmadonna“ an der Außenwand stammt von Prof. Sepp Zöchling aus St. Pölten und ist mit 1955 datiert. Von 1987 bis 1989 wurde die Kirche umfassend innen und außen renoviert, dabei wurde auch eine Nachbildung der am 21./22. Juli 1985 gestohlenen Madonna-Statue (vermutlich aus dem 17. Jahrhundert) aufgestellt: [1]. |
