Source The work was commissioned by the Maritime Institute of Ireland from the marine artist Kenneth King [1]. This work is part of a series depicting neutral Irish vessels lost during World War II. Des Brannigan, while president of the MII had this painting scanned for a commemorative brochure (this image is from that scan rather than directly from the painting)
