Summary

Description
English: Statue of the ancient Egyptian official Aanen. He was a second priest of Amun, an astronomer priest (as the stars on his leopard skin suggest), and held several other titles. He officiated during the reign of his brother-in-law, pharaoh Amenhotep III of the 18th Dynasty, New Kingdom. Granodiorite from Thebes, found by Drovetti in 1824. Turin, Museo Egizio, cat. 1377.
