Deutsch: Die relative Unschärfe dieser Carte de Visite von Karl Gutzkow deutet darauf hin, daß es sich hier möglicherweise um eine Kopie von einem Fotoabzug eines anderen - ebenfalls unbekannten - Fotografen handelt. Vor der Einführung des Urheberrechtes auch für Fotografien wurde dieses Werk möglicherweise von einem anonymen Kopisten angefertigt. Der angeschnittene Blindstempel an der Unterseite läßt auf eine Seriennummer schließen und damit auf eine Mengenproduktion, nach der Art "berühmte Persönlichkeiten der (damaligen) Gegenwart". Auch der nur sehr dünne Karton ohne Werbung und ohne jegliche Verzierung (ebenso auf der Rückseite, siehe unten), zum Beispiel eine Rahmung auf der Bildseite, legt eine Datierung nahe um 1860. Eine Bildersuche über das Internet fand bisher kein gleichartiges Foto; der mögliche Kopist schien beim Verkauf "seiner" Bilder nicht besonders erfolgreich.
