English: The image shows the remnants of the south-east corner of the temple of Apollo at Delphi. A group of Doric columns can be discerned. The earliest temple at this location was constructed in the 7th century BC but was destroyed in a fire in 548 BC. It was replaced by several further structures until the cult site of Delphi fell into dereliction after it was abandoned in 391 AD.
