Seeing, however, thatthe Glasgow and West of Scotland College costsover £6,000, and the Edinburgh and East ofScotland College over £5,000 per annum, addi-tional grants are still required if the College is tobe equipped and staffed on a scale equal to thetwo colleges named; otherwise there would bethe risk of agricultural students from the Northpassing Aberdeen and proceeding to Edinburghor Glasgow. The prospects, however, for addi-tional contributions are bright, and a few weeks benefits of its teaching to the agricultural com-munity of the district it was supposed to repre-sent, being, as the Scottish Education Depart-ment held, not sufficiently in practical touchwith it, and so failing to inspire that enthusiasmand interest which the importance of the subjectdemanded.
