English: The Tower, Hull Former cinema just south of the railway station near the city centre end of Anlaby Road, Hull. The Tower was designed by H Percival Binks and opened its doors on June 1st 1914, initially seating 1,200 people which was later reduced to 750 when the original wooden benches were replaced by proper cinema seats. In September 1978 the Tower closed as a cinema after which it was used as a boxing venue, a roller disco and eventually as a night club and fun pub. The domes were partly renovated during restoration work by the new owners in September 2008 and are due to be resurfaced with mosaic tiles.
The building was purchased by Tokyo Industries Ltd a uk nightclub operator in June 2011 with the intention to refurbish the venue back to its former glory and reopen as a nightclub and 1000capacity Live venue with no completion date at present - The property is still being marketed for sale and is available to interested developers - More info from: info@tokyoindustries.com
