Summary

Description
English: The old station at Gortnagree, Co. Kerry The line which bought the railway to Ireland's far west (the Valentia ferry) was opened in 1893 and closed in 1960. Here the signal box, platform and trackbed are still well in evidence at the top of the pass between Cahersiveen and Kells. The N70 Ring Of Kerry road runs alongside, and here comes one of the scores of coaches a day which make the anti-clockwise circular journey around the Iveragh Peninsula.
