Summary

Description
English: The figure above, constructed using stars up to 100 parsecs (326 light years) from Earth identified by the Gaia spacecraft, shows the position of the red dwarf LHS 1678 in the Hertzsprung–Russell diagram. This star is located in a small gap in the diagram. This gap, which can be more accurately described as a star deficit, is associated with a transition from partially convective interiors to fully convective interiors in red dwarfs.
