English: Stub metal platform serving Track 6 (the New England Central Railroad main, which diverges from the Northeast Corridor slightly south of the platforms) at New London Union Station in July 2013. The stub allows passengers - particularly those who cannot climb stairs - to board Shore Line East trains from the Track 2 high-level platform, which allows SLE trains to turn on Track 6 rather than blocking a main track. |
