Description
English: Instrument building of the tide gauging station established by the Austro-Hungarian Military Geographical Institute at Molo Sartorio in the Port of Trieste. The average water surface elevation of the Adriatic Sea, as determined here, is still used today as the zero-level reference for elevation measurements by Metres above the Adriatic.
