Summary

Description
English: The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CV-6) at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, Washington (USA), on 19 October 1943, during inclining experiment. Enterprise had entered the shipyard for a thorough modernization on 20 July 1943. Note that the Mark 33 gunfire control directors were replaced by Mark 37 directors. She is npw equipped with SK-1 air search radar. Next to it is the new SM radar, one of the first two sets produced. A SC radar was later placed on the (empty) mast on the stack.
Exactly four weeks later, "The Big E" was back in action against the Japanese during the Gilberts and Marshall Islands Campaign.
