Description
English: The U.S. Navy fleet oiler USS Laramie (AO-16) at the New York Naval Shipyard, 13 December 1940, just after being placed in full commission following her reactivation. She is alongside the former passenger liner SS Manhattan undergoing conversion for Naval Service. She would be commissioned as USS Wakefield (AP-21) in June 1941.
