Description

Diagram of British V.S. Percussion ("P") Tube Mk VII.
Used for firing BL artillery with Percussion locks, Land and Naval service, except 15 inch, 13.5 inch Mk V and 12 inch Mk VII-VIII. May also be used with QF 12 pounder and 4.7 inch guns.
Length approximately 56 mm (2.2 inches). Width at tip (front end) approximately 9.33 mm (0.37 inch).
Body is of brass, blackened, with 4 notches cut on the head to distinguish it from electric tubes.

Inserted into axial vent with percussion lock for firing.
Date Data correct as at 1 August 1914.
