Description
Nederlands: Hier zien we de eerste 'moderne' kaart van Suriname. De nauwkeurigheid is evenwel nog steeds niet groter dan die van zijn voorgangers. Het was door de overland-tracés van Loth mogelijk het onderlinge verband tussen de bekendste rivieren beter in kaart te krijgen. Deze tracés waren ingegeven door het onderzoek naar goud. De zuidoostelijke helft van Suriname is op de kaart goed vertegenwoordigd. Oorzaak zijn de aangegeven concessies voor goud en balata. Het grootste deel van het kaartbeeld beslaat een vrijwel onbekende wildernis.
