Description
English: Wagon descending railway incline, Twyford Waterworks. Used to haul chalk from the quarry to the lime kilns. Wagons were pulled up by a winch operated by a hydraulic engine [powered from the mains supply]. Wagons on the rest of the 2ft gauge on-site railway were pushed by hand.
