Summary

Description
English: Washford Cross The huge medium wave aerials dwarf the former BBC transmitter station which opened in 1933 to provide the National SW Regional and Welsh Radio Services. Now privately operated, these aerials transmit on BBC, Virgin and Talk MW frequencies while the smaller arrays are a TV booster for Watchet and Washford and a mobile phone mast. The two smallest masts are the fore and mizzen of a wooden pirate ship in the children's playground.
