Summary

Description
English: Photographed and uploaded by user:Geographer. The Front Range of the San Gabriel Mountains, as seen from the San Gabriel Valley (altitude approximately 500'). On the left is Mount Lowe, 5603'. To the right and slightly lower is the ridge-like summit of Mount Markham, 5742'. The most prominent peak on the Front Range is San Gabriel Peak, 6161', which appears on the center left. The low point to its right is Eaton Saddle, the headwater of Eaton Canyon. At center is Occidental Peak, 5732', named for Occidental College. The high point of Mount Wilson, 5710', is covered by antennas. The Mount Wilson Observatory is on the eastern end of the long summit, and two of its solar telescopes are barely visible as white towers. Mount Harvard, 5441', and Mount Yale, c. 4800', are on a ridgeline south of Wilson, and appear to be taller due to the perspective.
