Summary

Description

A Royal Netherlands Army (Dutch/Holland) YRP-765 Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) to an SFOR marked flat bed trailer unit in preparation to haul the APC from Camp Dobol, Bosnia-Herzegovina, back to the Dutch sector. US Army TF 1-26 soldiers confiscated this YRP-765 APC from a Serbian Army weapons storage site near Zvornik, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and returned it to the Dutch at Camp Dobol. The Dutch and US Army forces are in Bosnia participating in Operation Joint Endeavor, which is a peacekeeping effort by a multinational Implementation Force (IFOR), comprised of NATO and non-NATO military forces, deployed to Bosnia in support of the Dayton Peace Accords. This picture was made during a recovering mission. Before it was painted green the color was white as it was used by Dutchbat III who where committed in the Sebrenica region during the Bosnian civil war as UN protective force. Bosnian Serbian forces stole this YPR during the fall of the Sebrenica pocket. I know this because i was involved in the recovery mission witch also involved a few Mercedes terrain cars and a few other YPR's. So the statement under this picture that is Official US government material is not correct. The loader on witch the YPR is towed was also/still in use by the Royal Dutch Army. At that time period it was used by 110 and 210 BOS cie. I know this al for a fact because i was involved in these recovering mission in 1997 and 1999.
