How do the yellow explosives fly over? ←BenB4 14:10, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They're moved by hand. The people aren't shown, though. GeeJo (t)(c) • 19:23, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

'Loading rod'[edit]

Question 1. Where does the 'Loading rod' that pushes the cordites and shell into the gun go when the gun is elevated? the small box that it magically appears from is just 1/5 of it's length. Is it telescopic?

Question 2. Must the gun be in 'zero elevation' when loaded?

Wikipedia:Featured_picture_candidates/Animated_gun_turret.gif has some technical discussion about what's shown in the image. Question #2 is answered there. The BL 15 inch Mk I naval gun article discusses the gun. Here's an external web page with quite a bit of detail.
I wondered about question #1 too. --Marc Kupper|talk 20:55, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
