The irony is that the way this was drawn and the names given to the major boxes (base and superstructure) is itself an ideology that - if framed differently like a duality (e.g. wave-partical) and placed side by side - would give a whole different sense of relationship and value. There is no base, there is no superstructure. There is only base-superstructure duality.
