Perhaps they were shot in combat then checked for useful equipment/ relieved of arms and left together to be out of the way. --97.101.181.237 (talk) 01:17, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know any details as to the circumstances of the death of these two? Judging from how the bodies are aligned, it looks to be have been an on-the-spot execution, though thats just a guess. - February 25, 2008

just a guess but by their faces, id say they took a hell of a beating, i mean brutal ... poor chaps

on another note, thats a rather graphic pic for wikipedia, one did not expect the find such an image on the site ... good show —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.149.127.90 (talk) 13:59, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What is the provenance of this photo? If they are SS men, why are they in civilian clothes? Intelligent Mr Toad (talk) 06:15, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fuck, poor bastards. So if I understand this correctly, two wrongs make a right?58.107.179.146 (talk) 14:24, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
War is messy and unforgiving business. Do you believe that the allies were saintly knights who were the most upstanding soldiers to ever walk the land? Also, uniform matches with the SS, so they aren't civilians, though undoubtedly some civilian collaborators suffered a similar fate.Dustbomber (talk) 23:11, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You think the SS wore striped shirts? Look at the belt worn by the man on the left. SS and Wehrmacht belts had square or circular buckles - that's a civilian belt. Intelligent Mr Toad (talk)

I think this photo ought to be removed until we see some evidence of its authenticity. How do we know they are SS men, since they are in civilian clothes? Intelligent Mr Toad (talk) 08:50, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
