  • I feel like there were a lot of Latin American countries that had leftist governments other than Cuba before the US instituted regime changes.
Nicaragua's government had a strong communist influence at one point (and the same with Chile, but to a lesser extent), though the countries never became self declared "communist states;" much less "socialist states." VoodooIsland (talk) 16:40, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
