Country name selection

Really great diagram, but who chooses the names mentioned explicitely? Missing are most top infected countries, US, Italy, France, Britain, Netherlands, Germany, Iran, Brazil, instead we have there Monaco, Liechtenstein and Curacao. --188.97.169.53 (talk) 00:15, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

The countries are chosen automatically by the plotting library used by Our World in Data so that labels do not cover each other. You can verify yourself by changing the aspect ratio of the original plot - different countries will be labelled. – attomir (talk | contribs) 08:58, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
