Re: Speedy deletion[edit]

In the article on this book, Hussein, An Entertainment, a note in the infobox below the image of the cover states the file is a nominee for speedy deletion. (Because of that I expected to see a speedy deletion banner on the "file:Hussein cover.jpg" page, but I don't.)

I created this article over a period of days in my user pages. At that time I uploaded this image for the infobox. Because the article was not on view in the main pages, I received a note that a bot had discovered the image file was not in use and labeled it a widow. After reading the notification, I navigated to the talk page of the bot and requested the image not be deleted, because I was planning to move the article into the main pages that very day. I did, in fact, move it that very day. Nevertheless, I find the note in the article, as mentioned.

If the note refers to the bot's activities I wish an editor would remove it. It does not apply, because the file is not a widow.

If there is some other problem, could someone please let me know? Thank you.Hammerdrill (talk) 14:16, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The deletion tag seems to be added before the image was included in the article. Our fair use policy outlines that non-free materials must be used (we're not a repository; "free" stuff can be uploaded to commons). However, between the deletion tagging and your addition of the {{hangon}} template, you added the image to the article and the deletion request was removed (see the page history here). So basically, it's sorted. Cycle~ (talk) 19:36, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
