When the FAA posts an approach plate as an example, it is marked "Not for navigation" because there is a risk of confusion as the FAA is an official source of information. Having the plate so marked in a non-aviation source (such as Wikipedia) is unnecessary because it does not appear to be an official source. Regardless, the valid dates are shown on the right-hand margin and this plate is clearly past its expiration date.

Real charts are used for navigation, but only during the very specific period during which they are valid. 75.210.97.82 (talk) 16:33, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
