What happened to the West Bank and the Gaza Strip in this map? They appear to have been subsumed by ocean? WilliamWater (talk) 04:14, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What is the uploader's problem, where are West Bank and the Gaza Strip?--Uishaki (talk) 19:47, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

replacement suggestion[edit]

I suggest that, where possible, the blacky map is replaced by File:Middle East cropped (orthographic projection).png which is based on the standard Wikipedia map presentation as found at File:Middle East (orthographic projection).svg. The green also has the advantage of being a regularly used colour within Arabic culture and doesn't make POV use of a colour that, as the name suggests, is very far moved towards Wahhabi colouration. The proposed map also has advantage in that its perspective centres on the moderate middle of the map while the blacky version has a perspective that has unnecessarily pushed the map towards the east.
