Accuracy

[edit]

Is this map accurate? Saarland became German in 1935, but it is marked as German in 1933 on this map. --Derbeobachter (talk) 22:23, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Saarland#Interwar_history says: "In 1933, a considerable number of political opponents of National Socialism fled to the Saar, as it was the only part of Germany that remained under foreign occupation"
So atleast according to that article it is right.

It's generally recognised as not being part of the state of Germany until after the referendum (which was, after all, about "rejoining Germany", according to the same article). So that should be fixed, at least.

Saarland doesn't talk about "rejoining", but "re-integration" to Germany after foreign occupation. Although not administered by Germany, it formally was a part of Germany. Marking it to be German is a better option than make it a part of France or independent, don't you think?

Exactly its just like okinawa. would you say it was not part of Japan until the 1990's?

Error?

[edit]

The map says the "General Government" was considered Germany proper by 1943. Is this correct? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.73.196.52 (talk) 13:35, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
