Projection and distortion of the map[edit]

I guess that this Argentine map is rendered in the Mercator projection, which causes a considerable distortion in territories spanning many degrees of latitude (more than 33 in this map). In any case, either this projection is Mercator or not, the places at higher latitudes (in the South) look oversized, and conversely the northern provinces look comparatively smaller than they should be.
