Image enhanced prod[edit]

There is no prohibition that I know of regarding enhancing images. I will edit the file's description to include the information about the photo being enhanced with software. Bruxton (talk) 17:43, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@The ed17: Thanks for the message. I had originally enhanced an image from that link you pointed to in the file. But it was far too grainy so I uploaded a new image and forgot to update the accompanying information. I think I have it now. Bruxton (talk) 18:09, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Bruxton: I did believe that the original source was MPL, so I assumed that you'd done a full metric ton of editing and ran afoul of WP:IMAGEOR. While that updated source link seems to be down currently (you might want to add an archive URL just in case?), I can see from the Google preview that you're using an image that's much closer to the source. Thanks for clearing that up!
Unfortunately, this leads me to a new question. Is there a problem with using that original image? These edits feel like they're stylized, sorta like the AI-colorized photos that float around the internet from time to time. In particular, on my screen it looks like it gives the eyes color that may or may not be justified? Thanks for engaging here and apologies for all the questions! @The ed17: It appears the Remini software does a great job with the de-blurring, but it seems to add subtle shades to skin tone and eye color. When the original photo comes available I will compare them and possibly upload the blurry black and white one. Bruxton (talk) 20:37, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Bruxton: FYI, pings are not sent if you add them in a separate edit. To my knowledge, they have to be added with a signature in the same edit for things to happen. :-) Re: your reply, that sounds good. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 20:48, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
