I noticed a minor error in the file -- can someone please remove the 38th parallel divider on the Korean peninsula? I'm pretty sure there wasn't a North Korea and a South Korea in 1866. --220.239.171.136 (talk) 08:33, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Balkans[edit]

The map of the Balkans is completely wrong. There was no Bulgaria, Greece was much much smaller, Romania didn't have southern Dobrudzha, Serbia was much much smaller, no Albania. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.121.29.11 (talk) 10:29, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Historical Inaccuracies[edit]

This map may display the greatest extent of the Russian Tsarist empire, but it does NOT accurately show the empire's extent in 1866, especially in Central Asia. The Khanates of Khiva and Bukhara in Central Asia were not conquered until 1873, and Transcaspia (current-day Turkmenistan) was not conquered until the 1880s. Kokand was a vassal state until 1876 as well. Likewise the sphere of influence shown in Iran/Persia was created by the Anglo-Russian Convention of 1907. The spheres of influence as shown in the Qing Empire are probably more accurate for the 1890s than for the 1860s as well.Konchevnik81 (talk) 16:40, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Possible inaccuracies[edit]

I'm sure there are some map inaccuracies on the India-Qing border, Arabian Peninsula and Southeast Asia. Would anyone knowledgeable enough about the subject(s) care to fact-check? Thanks, Fitzcarmalan (talk) 03:59, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Colors[edit]

The different shades of green are hard to distinguish; it would be better to use non-green colors for some of the categories. -- Beland (talk) 21:43, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
