Amazing 19th century decipition. However, illustration is quoted as 1882. However, there's an Eiffel tower in the background -- would that suggest it was an 1890's? Or was the Paris' tower already blueprinted well before then?

You're correct. Work on the Eifel Tower started in about 1887. I have also found sources [1][2] that say the painting was made circa 1902. I suggest the description change to "1882-1902?". --MithrandirAgain (talk) 04:46, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
